I have to brag (because that is what I do here).
Liam is really good at puzzles, shapes, putting things together, etc. I think he'll be an engineer some day with the crazy mad skills he has for memorizing shapes and how things fit together. He has always been advanced in his motor skills, from day one practically.
Over a week ago, we were sitting in Stake Conference with the below pictured puzzle we picked up from PERC. (There are shapes cut in half, cut in odd ways so it's hard to tell what shape it will result in. It was kinda tricky for me the first time.) My darling son put it together with little or no help the first few times... then would do it on his own to test his memory of how the pieces fit together.
Fast forward 30 minutes. There was a 3 and 5 year old sitting next to us... they had a hard time putting it together. They worked together and they worked separately. Still not as good as Liam.
I was smirking.

Yay Liam! Way to go!
That puzzle does look complicated for a two year old!!! Impressive! Way to go Liam, even showing up the big kids! Engineers make good money. :)
Such a smarty pants! That's so awesome!
What a smart little guy. I'm sitting here looking at the picture laughing--can't even imagine squatting down like he is in the picture ; )
He is such a cutie and so like Little Dude in his analytical approach to things. Want to see if we can get a deal and sign them both up for MIT or the like, early?
I'm hoping we have an electrical engineer on our hands... It would make several generations of electricians/electrical engineers very happy.
(I would love him to be a musician, too, but he needs the steady day job. ;-) )
hurray for liam!
Please remember us when he's working for NASA.
What a smart little cookie he is! :)
Wish mine had the patience to sit still and do puzzles! Ain't the grass always greener...?!
That's so awesome and such a proud mama moment.
Don't you just love watching them when their little minds are working. It's SO dang cute.
What a smarty!
Would be so fun to get Liam and Avery together for a puzzle party. Although it looks like he could show her a thing or two!
And WOW he is doing great with his words!! I don't know what the problem is, but Avery is still not putting 2 words together. Hopefully speech therapy can help in a way that I don't seem to be able to.
So great that Liam is getting there though, must put your mind at ease to see him doing so well!
That's right. You go, Liam.
Of course he's got mad puzzle skills - his parents are pretty danged brilliant.
i love it that you were getting all proud..i can relate..us moms are so funny....my middle daughter Sophia was freakishly good at puzzles too. She now has a thing for math and art. WE shall see if Liam gets the same talents.
I've always been impressed with Liam's puzzle skillz!
What a little smarty! I would have secretly smirked at church too. ;)
Spoken like a proud momma!
