A few things to share

Today was Liam's school Trike-a-thon fundraiser. We both arranged our work schedules to be there to cheer him on this morning. It actually got rained out last Friday, so today was the back up time the school had arranged. I was glad we were there. Liam did 17 laps on his scooter in the 20 minute allotment. He was lightning fast!!! We were so proud of him not fizzling out.

In sadder news - We were the parents that forgot to bring our kid's helmet, but at least we were there. My heart went out to the little guy crying on the playground that had parents who didn't even sign his permission slip to participate, let alone come to support him. I wanted to take him home.

When I picked Liam up from school today, I grabbed his normal pile of artwork out of his shared cubby. His friend brings a humongous blue stuffed rabbit to nap with each day. It takes up the whole cubby so I am glad it isn't coat season anymore... Liam's stuff hardly fits in with the fat rabbit and/or massive blanket that is usually there.

Anyway, his friend with the rabbit got picked up a few seconds after we got there. As I was buckling Liam in his car seat, he saw his friend come out the door with that massive animal in tow. He said, "Awe, there's Jordan. {Sigh} He sure loves that rabbit." The way he stated it with no ounce of ire melted my heart and tickled my funny bone all at once. That Jordan must be a good friend to my son to encourage such endearing words. It was a sweet moment I had to write down.

Good night.

Thursday Evening with Dad

I had a photo shoot on Thursday right after work, so Ian picked up Liam from school. They went to find some new summer shoes and then they went to Michael's and found a boat kit to build together. Liam had a great time sanding, gluing and painting with his Dad.

As handsome as he is...

What is up with this look?

Joslyn had just stopped by on bikes with her mom, Kara. Liam wanted me to ride bikes too. So I grabbed Daddy's bike and went around the block with him and our friends. It was such a gorgeous day today!

Look at the signs of spring:

Pirate Party

Liam's cute little friend from school invited him to his 5th birthday party this morning. Liam had way too much fun! He plowed through all his tokens so he could buy his prizes with his tickets. He played with his friends, ate pizza, talked nonsense, sang happy birthday, ate cake, tried to open his present for his friend, and got a monkey balloon. It was super fun and he was not keen on leaving. Here are some of the highlights.

Swimming Saturday Morning

We met up with some great friends this morning at their hotel. We were thrilled they let us know they'd be coming into town. The kids had a great time swimming together. Liam was so delighted to be with Jake and Isaac again. The whole family is so fun! Hope to see you all again - and soon!

Venturing into the canyon

Thursday night we went for a nice drive up the canyon to have a picnic as a family. It was a gorgeous evening to be outside! Ian had a spot in mind that had some mini rock walls for Liam to climb and also access to the Provo River. Liam enjoyed doing his thing - throwing rocks into the water.

It was this big!!

Dying Eggs

Last night Liam had a good time dying his Easter eggs. Towards the end of the dying process, Daddy took off with one of the white eggs and put some white crayon designs on it without Liam's knowledge. Ian mentioned that he wondered about the magic Easter egg and why it hadn't shown up yet. The Easter bunny usually will leave one magic egg...

Liam was so tickled when he pulled that last egg out of the blue dye. It had his name on it!!!!!! AND it had an illustration of a bunny! WOW! So magical!!!!!
