Straight Out of the Camera

I took a lot of photos of Liam today and these ones I didn't even touch. Usually I have to at least crop the photo. Not these. Straight out of the camera and perfect. Manual mode is more fun than I thought!

Love that face!

Bathing Beauty

I got out the camera tonight while Liam was bathing. I love how cute he is in the tub.

I experimented with his wrinkly toes and some action shots with him spitting water. My favorite feature tonight was the focus on the toes and then another shot that focused on Liam's face and blurred the toes. So cool!

This fancy camera business is way too much fun!

Had to get a shot of the wrinkly hands too! His hands always go to his face... he knows when the camera isn't pointed right at him.

During family prayers tonight I took a peek at my reverent boy and he had his clean ankles crossed. I had him redo the pose after prayers because it was just so sweet.

He was being a goof eating his orange before bed.
This shot is my favorite!

Making Valentine's

Liam made Valentine's for his classmates tonight. He was so particular about the design for each and every one. I think it's going to take him awhile to hand them out on Friday. He assigned a name to each one - without writing the name down. I guess he's got them memorized as to who gets what.

Full Weekend

Friday night we had some company spend the night. My friend Jessica and her two little boys. Liam had a blast staying up late playing with them and getting up early to do the same before they left for a wrestling tournament. It was nice to have company over. I love Jessica and wish she lived closer to us. I've known her and her family since I was 6 years old. She's like a sister.

Saturday morning Liam and I went to the Shade sale up the road so I could get some cheap shirts, then we went to the library to return books and gather up some new ones, then we went to McDonald's for lunch and then we picked up Joslyn and took her to Jumpin Jacks. They had a great time burning off their energy. Once we took Joslyn home and got back, Liam sat on the couch for a bit to watch shows with Daddy... not 5 minutes later he was out like a light. So we all took naps and it was divine.

When we woke up from naps, we had some dinner and then I went to go pick up Tanya. Ian and I had a date to go see When in Rome and Liam got to play with her while we were out. The movie and alone time was very fun! We headed home and decided since we all took naps, we should pick up Tanya and Liam (take Tanya home) and then make a run to Krispy Kreme's. It was a great time just the three of us pigging out on fresh pastries. YUM!

In the car, Ian had our family favorite playing, Neil Diamond. Ian takes joy in helping Liam memorize the lyrics. It was so funny when he got the hang of "Don't Go There" when the chorus would start. Still when he was going to bed he was echoing the words, "don't go there..." So funny.

Today was church and Liam did well in Sacrament and Primary. Well, in sacrament I had to take him out for a few minutes. It's rare I have to do this and I always find a dark room with no windows. He's able to calm down and focus on my words in that environment. Blows my mind how quickly he turns around... I need a dark room here at the house.

After church we had some lunch and then watched the Lion King together. I fell asleep and he didn't. After my nap we got around to go to Uncle Drew's house for yummy food and to watch the Super Bowl. I brought a bag of tricks since there isn't much Liam-friendly things to do there. He lasted 3 hours there with the things we brought and some fun things Drew found for him. Who knew a pair of boxing gloves and a padlock with a simple combination would entertain a 4 year old for so long? Thank you, Uncle Drew. Once Liam hit his belligerant stage of fatigue, we said our good-byes. He fell asleep on the way home, but he did wake long enough to take a quick shower and get his pajamas on. He was so tired and was in a rush to lay down and fall back asleep.

A good weekend overall.

Games

I started a game (unintentionally) yesterday on the way home from work (and school). I said to Liam, "I am as hungry as a hippo!" He quickly replied, "Well, I am as hungry as a dog."

And so it went. Back and forth until it took a lot of thinking to come up with an animal that hadn't already been named. I loved Liam's reaction when I would think of one super fast. He'd go, "OH, {cutest taken-by-surprise laugh ever}! That is a good one, Mom!"

I need to take my camera tomorrow to catch this giggle on video. We played another round on the way home tonight. That new laugh is just so delicious I want a huge buffet of his delight!

The Cutest Face

Liam and Daddy had the best time roughhousing on our big bed Sunday night. I was playing with my camera catpturing it all. The yellow light from our buttery walls gave a sunshine effect. Here are a few examples:

It's funnier when you see the strain in Orion's eyes.

Friday night fun

So, Sharon and Tyler's wedding reception was a blast! Liam had fun running wild with some other kids and I had a great time snapping lots of photos. The main photographer, Tomi, was so gracious and fun to "talk shop" with.

Liam had a great time chowing down on cheesecake, playing with the table decorations and dancing like a madman. Once they cut the wedding cake, he made sure to find a way to get himself some of that too.

So, Liam got to bed about two hours later than usual that night. We got him tucked in and then went downstairs to watch TV and play online as we usually do. Fast forward a couple hours when it's time for us to go to bed... Ian goes to switch on the bathroom light and finds a premature April Fool's prank all over his hand. In the light he sees quite the masterpiece of Aquafresh goodness EVERYWHERE! He calls me up and we kinda chuckle at this daunting clean-up job. Assault victims: Mr. Tiolet, Madam Dryer, Le New Shower Curtain, Sir Sink, and Ms. Carpeted Top Step. We debated on whether to wake the monster who created the mess (when he should have been in bed) then I made the executive decision to take photos of the crime scene and let the sleep-deprived gremlin rest.

How is it that a 1-3 year old could be trusted, but a 4 year old cannot? This is not the first issue with trust since he had his 4th birthday. I guess they all have their phase of ruin-all-of-the-parents'-things-because-the-naughty-cat-doesn't-do-enough-damage.
