Visiting Verena

I didn't write yesterday because I went straight to Richfield after work. I met Verena's new baby girl, Annalise. She is only 4 days old. She was so small. It was so fun to hold her and kiss her. I even changed a couple diapers while I was there. It was nice to spend time with Verena. She is still in pain and recovering. I am so glad she doesn't have to work anymore.

When I got home, Daddy wanted to go test drive a Toyota T100 1996 truck. He's been wanting a truck for along time and it will definitely be handy. He will pick it up on Monday. We put a deposit down before we left the dealership today.

We we got home, we called Grandma and Grandpa P. Your grandma got on the phone and we told her she is going to be a Grandma! She thought we were pulling an early April Fool's joke on her. After she realized it was the truth, she got excited! It was so fun to share the news!

The T family are here tonight. It's so good to see them again! Alli, Isaac and Jacob are getting so big!

Blurting the news

Sorry I didn't write yesterday. Either I am a little stressed at work or the pregnancy fatigue is setting in. I am not quite sure. Hopefully tomorrow will be an easier day at work.

It's getting easier not to want to blurt out to the world that I am pregnant. I am still tempted, but it is easier to tell myself the news can wait. Hopefully we'll be able to catch both Grandma and Grandpa on the phone this Saturday so we can share the news with them.

I am headed to Verena's in Richfield tomorrow evening and won't be back until mid-day Saturday, so hopefully we'll still have time to call the grandparents before the K family gets here that night. I can't wait to share the news with them too! Hopefully we can borrow one of their cribs when you are born.

Well planned and wanted

Mondays always stink going back to work after such a nice smile-filled weekend. Work was okay. I called Verena at lunch time to check on her since she is due with her baby girl. I expected to get a call from them over the weekend. She asked if I ended up going to the doctor Friday. I told her I did and that the test was positive. I explained my shock to her and she laughed and congratulated me. She is very happy for me! I am too! you were well planned and wanted! We didn't think you'd come so fast though. Heavenly Father must really trust Mommy and Daddy. Nevertheless, you are on your way and it's hard to keep that a secret. We hope to tell your grandparents soon! That will be fun! I am looking forward to it!

Spring Preview

Today was a beautiful sunny day! I opened a few windows and let the clean, crisp air in. I love spring... and even though it may snow again before spring hits, it's nice to get a preview.

Our Bengal cats, Purr Bug and Orion, went outside and played with Daddy this afternoon. Even though they are indoor cats, they know what they are missing outdoors. They love the spring preview too!

Since we have found out you are coming, we have been praying for you. We have high hopes that you'll make it to your due date, November 6th. Firstly, we pray that you'll be healthy in the womb and when you are born only because we want you to have the best chance at life. Secondly, we need you to stay healthy in the womb because Mommy cannot afford to miss any hours at work. We both plan on working full time after you are born. It's sad that we have to think financially about this, but having a baby has a lot of facets... Emotional, physical, financial and spiritual. Hopefully all parts work out positively if we are faithful to the Lord.

I know all three of us will be blessed in the months and years to come.

Comfortably Wonderful

Today was a fun Saturday with Daddy. We slept in. We ate breakfast on our way to Salt Lake City and went to John Paras Furniture so we could find a recliner/rocking chair for you and me. I figure it may get tough to sleep at the latter part of my pregnancy, so it would be nice to have a recliner option for sleeping at night. And then after you are born, I will have a place to nurse you and rock you to sleep.

We found the chair we like and hope to go back soon and pay cash for it. One of our goals is not going any further into debt and paying off all our bills before you join us in about eight months!

Today we also went to a movie, In Good Company, and then went shopping at the mall. We looked at some baby clothes and tried our best not to buy anything. We need to wait to find out if you are a boy or a girl first! So we got Mommy some new clothes instead!

We came home for a minute, then went out to eat at Ruby River and talked about how comfortably wonderful it is that you'll be joining our family soon.

My first letter to Liam

Today, July 8, 2009, I have decided to dig up the journal I wrote by hand when I found out I was pregnant with Liam. I am creating a book to publish of his first 2 years of life and realized I hadn't transferred this information to his blog yet. Tonight I am reliving the excitement of my early days of motherhood...

Today I found out that you are growing inside me. What a shock it was to hear I am pregnant! I must have gone pale when the nurse told me because she offered to re-test to reassure me it's true. I just kept saying, "Are you sure? Are you sure?"

I went straight to Daddy's workplace to give him the news. He seemed to take it better than I did. I took a card to him at his desk. He opened it and shut it real fast saying, "No way!" Then he reopened it and read it again more carefully. It was pretty cute.

We went back out to my car together and talked more about your due date on November 6th -- my dad's birthday. We really hope you are healthy and growing normally at this 5 week point. I hope you stay where you are until November 6th.

Besides Daddy, I told our friend Robin the shocking news. She was so excited to hear it's official since she and I have both missed our period and have taken two previous pregnancy tests. She will know tomorrow if she has a baby growing inside her too! I really hope so! She brought your first gift today -- a five-pack of white onesies!
