No more mama drinks

Well, Liam hasn't nursed since Sunday morning, so we are on our 4th day of no "mama drinks." We are both okay with it now, but last night around 11:30 Liam woke with a cough and some congestion. We could tell he didn't feel well so we brought him in to cuddle with us. I could tell that it wouldn't hurt Liam's feelings if he had some nursing for comfort. I felt sad that I couldn't oblige him... we gave him some medicine and as soon as it kicked in, he slept until 7:30 this morning. This weaning thing is making him sleep longer. Miracle of miracles! And he wakes up in a more cheerful mood... YAY!

And here are some photos from Sunday that I haven't posted yet. Liam playing in his box of balls and coloring with Uncle Drew.

Him doing so well with the weaning must be a sign that he was ready and that it was time. I know you are LOVING being able to sleep in a little bit, or have some quiet mommy morning time.

He is absolutely adorable, as always. The pic of him in the box of balls is one of my faves!

Oh, and I promise I'm mailing your book next week. The yard sale prep is keeping me so preoccupied right now but will be over this weekend. Maybe then I could take you up on the offer to help me with the blog book stuff? Is it super comlicated? I don't want to take too much of your time, you're a busy gal too! I owe you a back scratch-- between the book and the bloggy book help. You're awesome! I'll get you back when you need me!

That's so hard. My littlest was almost three before she would completely quit nursing. Definitely more from comfort than anything else. I decided "that is ENOUGH" and ended it and she never asked again. Kinda sad, but part of growing up I guess.

Cute pictures of Liam, as always. ;-)

Good for both of you! I'm glad you aren't having any problems and are actually getting some benefits (like sleep) from it!

By the way, I am way way behind on reading your posts, so don't be surprised if you get random comments from me from old posts. :)

Yay for more sleep! Kaden is totally weaned now too. He slept until 7:15 this morning- woohoo! The extra sleep is wonderful! That's awesome that Liam is happier when he wakes up too- just confirms that it is the right time.

It's hard to see them grow up but some changes are good.

Weaning from the breast is bittersweet. You gain freedom but miss that bond.

I love that picture of him with the balls! Again, those trousers make him look like a Von Trap child.

I'm so proud of you for making it this long breastfeeding! (I thought 14 months with Maddie was a long time!) But as the saying goes all good things must come to and end. =)

You didn't want to be like the mom I met on my mission who was nursing her 8 year old while his younger brother was pouring himself a glass of milk at the fridge? True story.

Hooray for sleeping in!! Hey, Sadie weaned at 13.5 months and she only sleeps till 6:00. Oh well, I'm not really complaining she is WAY better now than when she was in her first year of life.

I love that photo in the ball box!

My son (nearly 4) stopped nursing (I was going to type weened, but it makes me feel like a cow) just before his second birthday, too. And it helped him sleep better, too!
