Liam and I hiked up to Timpanogos Cave today. I didn't think we could do it. I mean, I did a lot more work than he did, but for a kid his age, he did AWESOME! Liam hiked a quarter mile on foot and was carried the rest of the way up the mountain (with a few bursts of walking on his own). He fell asleep on the tour of the caves and slept as I carried him a half mile down the mountain (and then the other half mile he refused to walk, so I still carried him). I. am. beat.
I am so grateful to the Tross family for cheering me on as we hiked and also for the few short breaks that someone else would carry Liam. It was so steep. I thought to myself many times, "What in the world am I doing up here!" The things one does for the people they love and want to spend time with... I am glad we did it.

You look great! Especially after hiking so far carrying baby freehand! That is so hard and uncomfortable! I went on a hike with Kaden using a hiking backpack and it kicked my bum! I was so sore and tired afterward! Kaden of course had a nice nap in the car and in the carrier and wasn't tired at all! Such fun...
I didn't even attempt using a carrier... he won't stay in it these days anyway. So it was all freehand carrying... kicked my butt. If you click on this photo, you can see the sweat - so GROSS!
Here are all the photos. My mom loved spending time with Liam:

What a cool mom you are! That sounds like a tough hike!
You look wonderful for being hot and haggard! Liam had it goin' on for himself, huh? I'd love if I had someone to carry me around!
Great job, Gina! I'm lucky if I can get up Timpanogos on my own, let alone carrying a child. You are such a great mom! :)
Wow, Gina!! I am impressed and jealous. I wish I was as cool as you. I am afraid my poor kiddies will likely NEVER be carried up a mountain by me. You are awesome and you do look great!
You are sexy AND tough!
We've been wanting to do that for a while now, but I'm a little worried about the hike. More for mine own sake.
Way to go!
The cave is on our list of "things we want to do". I'm still talking myself into packing Crew up the mountain. I'm glad to hear its worth it;)
That was one of the things I wanted to do when we lived there but never got around to. Darn it. You do look great! Maybe we can all do the hike next summer. We'll get Ian to go with us and he can pack Liam. ;)
What cute pictures! This is the new definition of "supermom"-- hikes up mountain with child in arms.
