Blah photos

We went to Kiddi3 K@ndids on Tuesday night. Mom has been wanting to get a portrait done of Liam the whole time she was here, but the poor kid always had a bruise or scrape on his face. This week his face was clear, but his legs were still a little battered looking.

We couldn't get a short notice sitting anywhere but Kiddi3 K@ndids, so we went and dealt with the waiting and slow "photographer" who missed any possible good shots. Here is a sampling of what we got:

Mom wanted shots of his bare feet. It cracks me up that he has the exact same feet as Ian. I call them paddles because they are so square!

This is a photo of a photo... Cute little legs, but no smiles. He is cute no matter what though.

So frustrating! We went to Picture People to get family photos. Our photographer was brand new- hadn't taken any photos for real yet. Kaden just wanted to sit in the firetruck but we didn't want to buy photos of him in the firetruck so we wouldn't let him pose in it. Kaden kept running away. The whole family shots are pretty good- everyone smiling and mostly looking in the right place. The individual ones of Kaden and I or Matt and Kaden or just Kaden are terrible. We were prepared to buy more but ended up getting two 8x10s that after coupons cost us 5 bucks. :) That made it all worth it...

He is darling no matter what. But, I do hate when you go to get pictures done and they don't turn out.

Taking pictures of toddlers and infants, or just kids in general needs a photographer woh knows what they are doing and enjoys kids too. I agree he is cute no matter what.

What a doll! He looks like such a big boy with his leg up on the ladder! Cute outfit too!

We have gone to professional photographers 14 times (seriously) and I still find that the best shots are taken at home while the kid is relaxed and playing.
But yes, he is cute regardless!!

You should have saved yourself the hassle and taken them yourself, Gina. You take such good photos of your little guy.

That picture of him on the bench with his legs stretched out looks so much like Ian! Most of the time I think he looks like you, and this is one of the few shots that I think he looks just like Ian. :) Such a cute kid!

I agree with you about the photographers. Many of them at the place you went and Se@rs think that kids have to be smiling big and posing. When they are themselves is so much better. I have pics of Kimi with tears in her eyes because she didn't want her pic taken. I told the photographer to just take it and quit trying to make her smile. I LOVE that picture.

I agree with Kate, your pics are way cuter. I'm sad to hear about your craptacular experience though. I have seen some super cute photos from that place, but at the same time I'm glad you shared because this way I won't be as tempted to go there.

I think it's hilarious that little kids have the same feet as one of their parents. I have seen lots of kids with feet that look almost exactly the same as the mom or dad. I hope my kids get my feet... Adam's boy feet just aren't as pretty. ;)

I love having portraits of my kids but I dread taking them into the studio. It can be so hard to get the toddler to cooperate so it just adds to the frustration when the photographer isn't very good. I also hate when I have an appointment but I still have to wait a long time. I could easily handle it for my own picture but its hard to keep the toddlers entertained. I don't like it when the tots are already restless from the long wait before we start the shoot.

Now that I am done complaining, I think Liam looks adorable. I love his outfit!

he was just feeling a bit somber that day...

I agree, he's cute no matter what! But I am really surprised to hear that K.K. did such a medicore job. Everyone I know *loves* that place - they say it is well worth the high prices! I've never been though, because I've always found it more fun to take my own photos. And you have such a talent at taking good portaits of Liam, just get them enlarged to portrait size!

Down the road a few years you will be glad that you have these pictures even if you don't think that they turned out, in all fairness to the KK yes we had a long wait, they were really busy and only two workers, and the lady wasn't the fastest, but I think we got some somber but cute shots of Liam, after all it was his bedtime, he had been running a slight fever that afternoon from teething,it was hot, so for all you young moms out in blog world if you want your pictures to turn out don't take your kids at nap time or bedtime and when they are not feeling the best. Thank-you to the ones that thought that Liam's outfit was cute. KK had some wonderful props that could have been used, Liam willing but he wasn't.... I would give them a chance again .... I still think that Liam is the best with or without a smile. plus his daddy and his uncle Drew were at home and thats what Liam wanted to be doing playing with his daddy and his uncle Drew. I love my picture of his somber little face and love to see his cute little hands and legs and yes his little feet. I am thankful every day that we were blessed with such a healthy, strong, beautiful little grandson smiles or not. Love and miss you Liam xxx-ooo grandma-Dixie
