Liam's Toys

Last week Liam learned how to flush the toilet and squealed with joy pulling that shiny lever over and over again! The same day he found out the toilet flushes, he found the loose paper holder in the same bathroom. (He also found himself to be one of those squealing screaming tots when he is in a good mood. ~insert loud sigh here~)

Anything metal is a toy to him. Well most anything that isn't a "baby toy" is a toy to him. He likes plastic cups, the flag pole (without the flag of course), remote controls, my silky scarf, the empty Airborne container, his teething tablets (they rattle you know), spatulas, serving spoons, water bottles (since 4 months of age), cat treat bags, the alarm clock and recently I bought a pack of Nemo balloons at the dollar store. That was the best buck I have spent in a long time! Six breaths of my own CO2 went into those and he has been playing with them like they are new ever since. He holds them above his head, swats at them, chases them and laughs at them!

I don't have a photo of the balloon fun, but here is a shot of him checking out the cat treats. This past week he also started doing belly flops on our kitchen floor then sucking or licking the floor! Oh so gross!!! How do you wash a baby's mouth out? I am already a crazy lady washing his hands 30 times a day! Yeah, he's an icky boy, but a funny one... and entertaining one... a VERY cute one!

I think the cats will always be Liam's number one toys. He grins when he hears them and when he catches site of them. They actually welcome his attention now that they are so starved for it (going on 10 months).

You know, I think you just eventually get to a point where you have to just let their hands be dirty for a little while, then wash them! My kids (ESPECIALLY Jonas!) have eaten things (ie: dog food, popcorn found on ground) before I had a chance to get it away quick enough, and you know they seem to be doing okay! lol! It's so funny how you can spend all that money on toys, and then they don't even play with them! Don't worry it won't last forever! He's getting so big! I'm so excited he took some steps! Have fun!

totally know what you are talking about with the screaming. savannah is a happy screamer--and has most recently turned into an angry screamer too when she can't have something. but we are trying to break the bad habit.

Liam is totally training to be a ninja in that first picture! How cute!

Our cat continues to be Eleana's truest source of joy (besides mommy and daddy that is)...and she also lights up and giggles every time she sees the cat.

isn't it funny how we parents feel the need to spend mega bucks on toys when in reality we can just open up our kitchen cabinets?

Looks like you had an awesome weekend and a good monday. Kaden is the same way. He is always straining to get his hands on something that I don't want him to have. You would think I would be better baby proofed by now. He has started scooting himself again on his back again. All is great until he hits the couch or the wall. He needs to learn to go forward like normal kids so that he can see where he is going. Liam is ADORABLE! I can't wait to meet him. Someday!

He IS a cutie! ^_^
Funny how babies prefer household objects over toys, isn't it?
By the way, teething tablet rock!

Why do we even buy toys anymore? Darling pix.

Sounds like he's a happy, busy little guy! I have to say I am far less worried about the dirt issue than I once was. I just tell myself it probably make their immune system stronger.

That toilet flushing thing, while hilarious, must get old quick! He sounds like such a busy happy little guy!

How funny! Annabelle has tried to flush the toilet, but hasn't yet figured it out. She does, however, wave at the contents going down the drain every time I flush. And then she diligently closes the lid and locks the babyproofing latch for me.

My very first babyproofing thing was a toilet paper protector thing. My girl has an affinity for tissue...

Love it! Mark seems to find toys in the cardboard center of the paper towel and SPOONS. Why purchase items from Fisher Price and Little Tykes???? :)
