Your in for a treat

So I was helping Liam do some of his homework last night. One assignment was associated with the Letter M. He was asked to draw a picture of his mom. After giving him direction, I was sitting at the table going through the newspaper as he was focusing on his drawing.

I saw he had finished my big head and my hair that actually looked like horns (which is quite telling these days). So I asked about my missing arms and then about my missing legs. He finished the hearty arms and sparse phalanges then I reminded him about my legs again. He said, "OH MOM! I almost forgot your ribs!"

Well, that was surprising indeed that he forgot such an important part of my body! So in my ignorance I said, "Oh, then you better give me some ribs then."

As you can imagine, laughter expelled from me as he drew two small circles for my "ribs." I got Ian's attention to come take a look and we both laughed about those ribs for awhile. Liam had no idea what was so funny as he continued his artwork of his monstrous mother.

I relayed this story to his teacher today and she didn't laugh at all. Curious. Just a smile. I'm suspicious that boobs are refered to as ribs at his school. I don't know... I'm just baffled by the new reference and the lack of laughter by his teacher.

Hahahaha, I'll be chuckling about this all day. It's very strange that the teacher didn't find it amusing. How was the movie on Saturday?

Oh goodness! That is TOO funny! Have you noticed that he gave you crab arms with one much larger than the other?

What a strange thing to call them if she does indeed refer to them as that. Better to just teach the real word and move on. I love the picture, he's such a good artist!

I think that is funny too! Maybe his teacher doesn't have a good sense of humor.

That is awesome!!! I am wondering if you need to find him a teacher with a sense of humor!!! How could you not laugh at that?? What a cute little guy!

I have to laugh - not just at the picture but this. Back in high school, I had a job at the infamous KFC. At that time, they were changing their vocabulary when it came to the white meat. The breast was to be referred to as a rib, while the center breast piece was to be called a keel. This would be back in 1990-something.

Yeah, I found this story amusing as well, since Alexis has been drawing more and more, nothing quite like this, but her drawings are interesting.
