Jumping Fun at Airborne

I set up a play date for Liam at a new place nearby called Airborne on Saturday. We had a few cute friends show up and the kids couldn't have had a more energy draining good time!

He can't resist groovin' to the music!

After Liam passed out his favor bags to all his friends, we went and had a nice lunch at Sweet Tomatoes with Suzanne and her sweet kids. Later in the afternoon we went swimming with Cristian and his brothers!

Memory Grove Park

Ever since Monday

So since my last post - every single night Liam has asked me to tell him more stories about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I broke out a big beautiful book that explains all the Bible stories in order for children.

He's eating them up each night. After family prayer, he lays quietly in his bed as I read sitting on the floor with the help of the hallway light.

I love that not only is he learning the Gospel, but he's listening without a picture to look at! So impressed with him!

True Stories

Last night Liam needed some extra loving after a long day of fun and then a short yet severe series of naughty choices. After lots of talking out the events of the evening, putting new band-aids on his little toes from pool scrapes, saying prayers, etc., I was tucking him into bed and he asked me to snuggle him for awhile. I agreed to that if he would lay still.

I took that time to share with him (again) that Heavenly Father created us and that He and Jesus Christ should always come first in our lives. I told him the story of the Plan of Salvation and that less than 6 years ago he lived in Heaven too. He ate up every word. And he had lots of great questions. I went on to tell him about the Creation and what happened on each day. Liam said, “How am I going to remember all this? Will you tell me again and again?” I said, “Yes, I will. There is so much to remember!”

To my delight, this morning on the way to school Liam said, “Mommy, will you tell me more about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ?”

I smiled and then told him the story of the First Vision. He remembered parts of it from when we had discussed it a few months ago at the beginning of his Book of Mormon story book. I’m sure he’s been given reviews in Primary class as well. We also talked about how Angel Moroni helped with the restoration and his life and work on earth as a Nephite. (He is a big fan of Angel Moroni and loves pointing him out on all the temples.)

I should have known how much Liam would enjoy hearing these stories. I can’t wait to share more with him!

Little Buddy

When we moved from Provo, I prayed that Liam would find at least one good buddy to really call a friend. Cristian is our neighbor and filled those shoes for our Liam. We really like this little boy a lot! He is witty, brilliant, creative, tough, and handsome! Since Liam has similar attributes, they know what to do when they are together... it's sweet harmony. I love watching them.

Today we took Cristian with us to the Lowe's Kid Workshop, then to a party store side-walk sale, and then to a pet store. They were so cute running around together and sharing jokes. It's such an easy relationship for them.

When we got back home, we gathered the others to go swimming with us. Gosh it's nice to have our own pool!

This evening we went to Seven Peaks SLC and Liam found out he is tall enough to go on the water slides all by himself! He can even drag his tube up hundreds of stairs by himself! Sweet!

Here is Liam living up the last half hour of our time there today. He loves those waves!

Liam got to go on a field trip to "This is the Place" today. Thank you, Kim, for always documenting their fun!

Painting Rocks and Riding in the Rain

Saturday Liam and I had a plan. If it was raining, we were going to find rocks and paint them. If it was nice, we were going back to the Jordan River Parkway for a bike ride.

We ended up doing both.

We didn't get on the trail until around 4pm and it started sprinkling. We rode for a long time feeling a drop of rain here and there. Once we decided to turn around and head back to the car, it started pouring down! We rode as fast as we could. Liam had short sleeves and shorts on... he was really cold and said his hands were hurting as we were getting beat upon with rain. I kept on encouraging him and we made it back completely soaked! What an adventure! Liam is such an awesome sport!
