I bought this for Liam’s birthday this year. We read it last night for the first time. Best little chapter book in the world! We about laughed our big heads off! Great stories of a real 7 year old and how he learned important values the year before he was baptized. Highly recommend to any 6 or 7 year old out there!

Happy Halloween

Another Success by Liam

Liam had two parts in the Primary Program yesterday.

1.     We learned this year that a consequence is what naturally happens because of a choice we made.

2.     Heavenly Father has promised in Mosiah 2:22 "If ye do keep my commandments he doth bless you and prosper you." We know that we will be blessed as we make a commitment to choose the right.

On top of reading those parts at the beginning and end of the program, he sang his heart out - happily.  Icing on the cake – he was reverent on the stand.

REVERENT.

SO GOOD!

I was blown away!

At the end of the meeting, a few people came up to me and to Liam to say how impressed they were with his reverence and job well done on his parts.  Grandma and Grandpa Peterson were witness to the amazing performance too.  They were beaming with pride as I was.

I have to say that I feel Heavenly Father is so pleased with our Liam.  His testimony of Jesus Christ grows each week and it's so neat to watch.

A big thanks to our Primary Presidency for working so hard with the children. They are so patient and loving with each of them.

Liam's 7th Birthday!!!

We celebrated Liam's birthday at the Cottonwood Rec Center Ice Rink.  We had so many great friends come and play with us!  Grandma Dixie, Grandpa Peterson, and Uncle Drew came too!  I was especially grateful to Ian for helping me pull it all together.  He not only helped me shop, set up, etc, but he planned a Monster Fear Factor game... a really really creative and gross adventure for the kiddos!

Here is the darling Birthday Party Invitation:

Getting his feet steady - and he even taught some of his friends to ice skate.

Decorations - they each made their own monster hat.

Sadie Cook came to paint all the kids' faces - they loved it!

The crew on the ice.

Ian dishing out one of the nasty fear factor samples.  They had 60 seconds to eat each thing.

BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!

He was so excited about each and every gift!

After party at Liam's crib!

Again

Liam bore his testimony again at church today.  He said that he knew that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ created our world.  He then went on to detail what was created each day - in order.  He is amazing.

Night Riders

For awhile now I've wanted to take Liam on a bike ride to Wheeler Farm just up the street and around the corner from us.  I had a secret spot I wanted to show him from a photo shoot I did a couple months ago.  Today was the day... it had to be.  It was so warm and we weren't going to have very many more days of that.  So I got home, we ate dinner, Ian was sleepy and crashed, the sun was starting to set... but gosh dang it I wanted to go.  So we did.  Liam and me.  And it was so much fun!

He followed me every step of the way.  Along the sidewalks and busy street, even stopped to help someone with directions... entered the park, down the hill, speeding and slowing down, through the farm, past the animals, commented on those absurdly loud geese, over the bridge, onto the dirt pathways... and finally to the secret cove where the little mini cable bridge was.  Over the bridge and onto more pathways and... wouldn't you know it?  It was a good thing we made the trip after sundown.  Halloween lights all throughout the forestry areas and pathways.

The only drawback... goat heads.  Yep, we were headed out of the park and both my tires became flat.  And my cell phone was dead.  And so... we walked our bikes home.  It was a great walk in the night with my conversational Liam.
